If you’re making a playlist for the Stacks, there are a few different ways that it can be done. (These are listed in order of what works best, so keep that in mind.) Try to get your playlist to the stacks operator before 2 p.m. on Fridays so they can compile everything.
1. Export the playlist from iTunes
To do this, go to File>Library>Export Playlist. This’ll make a text file that gives iTunes the order of the songs. Then copy all of your audio files (MP3, AAC, any unprotected format should work) and put them in a folder with the Playlist file. Any way you want to give this (flash drive, burnt on a CD) is fine.
2. Burn the playlist to a CD.
This will preserve the order (if you burn it as an audio CD), but limits the number of songs you can put on.
3. Bring your laptop or iPod to 221.
Keep in mind this only works if someone is in the room to switch everything out. Sometimes, there won’t be anyone home, which means your music won’t go on. It’s generally a better idea to use on of the other ways of getting the music to them.
